In November 2006, my Rocky Mountain horse, Rio's Majesty started having breathing problems along with fatigue after returning from 4 days of trail riding the last week of October. Concerned that he might have developed a deep-lung infection, my local vet sent me to Tampa to see a specialist. By the time we arrived, Rio was showing acute lameness in his right stifle.
